Emotional suffering happens when we don’t take the time to figure out what’s going on for us. It happens when we don’t take the time to learn and develop the skills to be living from a place of worthiness. It happens when we don’t take the time to process our emotions and figure out what they are trying to tell us.

Wholehearted Living

A few weeks ago, I spoke about living life wholeheartedly. Brené Brown describes living wholeheartedly as engaging in life from a place of worthiness - cultivating courage, compassion and connection.

Brené has 10 guideposts to wholehearted living and I have previously spoken about the first two:

  1. Cultivating Authenticity and Letting Go of What Other People Think

  2. Cultivating Self-Compassion and Letting Go of Perfectionism

Today, I want to focus on the next two:

  1. Cultivating Your Resilient Spirit, Letting Go of Numbing and Powerlessness

  2. Cultivating Gratitude and Joy, Letting go of Scarcity and Fear of the Dark

Below I will be sharing what resilient people have in common, what foreboding joy is, and three tools to cultivate gratitude and joy.
